Installation of Officers
The installation of the new slate of officers, to govern the Lodge or the Chapter for the remainder of the year, is a great and important occasion in every Masons Masonic life and every member of the Star. Your attendence and support at this event would be very much appreciated. It is an especially enjoyable time for all in attendance. Since it is traditionally an open-to-the-public event it is an excellent opportunity for all to see this fraternal organization at its finest.
Stated Meeting
We come together for our Stated (regular business) Meeting the second Saturday of each month at 1:00 p.m. All Masons, including Entered Apprentices, Fellowcraft, and Master Masons are invited to attend. This meeting is usually followed by a dinner, and that, followed by a meeting of Mizpah Chapter #19 of the Order of the Eastern Star. They would welcome all members of the Eastern Star attending as well.
Grand Masters Official Visit
This annual visit of the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of the State of Nevada is a very important meeting. We are pleased to host a number of Grand Lodge Officers and proudly show off our fine historic Lodge Building, our new Lodge Building, and our good work. We encourage all Masons to attend this important event.
Worthy Grand Matrons Official Visit
This annual visit of the Order of the Eastern Star Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of the State of Nevada is a very important meeting. The Chapter is pleased to host a number of Grand Chapter Officers and proudly show off our fine historic Lodge Building, our new Lodge Building, and our good work. We encourage all members of the O.E.S. to attend this important event.
Miners Outdoor Degree
Started in 1985, This is a meeting hosted in rotation between Lodges in four states for Masonic Education.
The Lodges are:
- St John #18 of Pioche, Nevada
- Moreno Valley Lodge #804 of Moreno Valley California
- Kingman Lodge #22, Kingman, Kingman, Arizona
- Havasue Lodge #???, Havasue, Arizona
- Franklin Lodge #27, Ceder City, Utah
- ? Lodge #???, St George, Utah
With special permission from The Grand Master our Lodge works with other local lodges to provide a Degree a Lunch at an old west Gold Mine and later that evening a Bar-B-Q for the whole family. This a special time of great fellowship and memorable Lodge Work. I have never met a Mason who would not enjoy this and call it time well spent.
PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended that for this event you wear comfortable clothes and a large brim hat. You may wear it during the meeting. Period western or miners clothing would be in the sprit of the time being portrayed. A jacket might be called for during the evening. Come & Enjoy!
Labor Day Pancake Breakfast
Each Labor Day, Pioche hosts this special days festivities in the county. People come from considerable distances to share in the homecoming and fellowship of the weekend long activities. Each year we provide a pancake and sausage breakfast to all commers. This serves as a principal fund raiser for the Santa Visit each Christmas time.
Nevada Masonic Kids ID Program
Saint John Lodge and Mizpah Chapter sponsor the Kids ID Booth to make Free ID Kits and Cards for all the children of the community. The Booth is operated from 09:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Appreciation Bar-B-Que for our Ladies
Tradition and Gratitude are the order of the day when St John Lodge thanks the Ladies of Mizpah Chapter for their support and unselfish preparation of the meals following each and every one of our meetings. Without their good work and great cooking we would not be able to share the unqualified social success each meeting affords us all.
Santas Visit
The Pioche Primary School Children are hosted to a annual Christmas Party at which Santa presents each child with a stocking stuffed with candy, fruit, nuts, and a small present.
Election of Officers
During this last Stated Communication of each year the members of the Lodge vote for a slate of officers for the following year. This is a must-attend for all members of St John Lodge.
Grand Lodge of Nevada
The annual collective meeting of representatives from all of the constituent Lodges of the State of Nevada is called the Grand Lodge. It alternates between the Reno and Las Vegas Area and is an assembly of some of the most notable Masons of this and other states.
Grand Chapter of Nevada
The annual collective meeting of representatives from all of the constituent Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star of the State of Nevada is called the Grand Chapter. It alternates between the Reno and Las Vegas Area.
